During the creative culinary atmosphere of the Moscow Food Festival in mid June, Russian Regional Sales Office organized an intense week of Asian specialties tasting in one of the most exclusive modern restaurants in Moscow Moscow Asia and organize a culinary week supervised by Gilles Galli, Executive Chef of La Residence Phou Vao, and Oliver Guilmain, Executive Chef at The Governor’s Residence. The aim of this gastronomic event at “Vesna”, called “Orient-Express Journey Through Asia”, was to target new clients and promote Orient-Express hotels by offering an exclusive menu comprising dishes symbolizing five Asian countries. As reported by Olga Pleshakova, Regional Sales Director, the agreement with “Vesna” benefited Orient-Express hotels via: • banners on display in key areas of Moscow • flyers distributed by all of Novikov's restaurants and sent to top clients of “Vesna” • menus featuring Orient-Express Asian hotels references • copies of the corporate Travel Guide distributed to all dining guests The Regional Sales Office informed top travel agencies and corporate clients about the “Orient-Express Journey Through Asia” gastronomic week. The event was also promoted in the media through an interview with Chef Gilles Galli for the magazine Aeroflot Premium, which is distributed in Aeroflot’s Business Class, and special press lunches with representatives of “food and life-style” magazines, such as Top Hotels, New Asia, Gastronom, Gourman, Restaurant Rating, and Chef ArtMagazine. During the week Orient-Express hosted 20 lunches to specially invited guests. On the last evening a lottery was organized to reward the guests at “Vesna”. Prizes included small presents from the Asian hotels, such as handicrafts and three vouchers for a two nights’ stay at The Governor’s Residence, Napasai and La Residence Phou Vao. The name of Orient-Express and our individual hotels in Asia got full exposure during this very successful week and thanks to the Regional Sales Office’s clever preparation the event was realized with minimal financial involvement - the promotion was entirely carried out at the restaurant’s expense, including the chefs’ accommodation and food & beverage. Thai Airways sponsored the air tickets for the chefs’ flight Bangkok-Moscow-Bangkok.
